Daniël graduated as a Master of Science in applied engineering: Electronics-ICT in June 2011. In his final year, he’s worked in a multidisciplinary international team on a project about the use of smart textiles in health care at the Product Development department of Artesis. After the initial shock of being confronted with the fuzziness of the front end, he had a change of heart and is now pursuing a PhD in Product Development/Biomedical Sciences at Artesis, department of Product Development, the Vision Lab of the University of Antwerp and the KU Leuven, at the lab of Computational Neuroscience.
My research is focused on the application of complex 3D models of the human head in product development. During my PhD, I aim to find out whether using 3D anthropometry results in a better fit, usability and functionality of BCI devices. If so, this will have a significant impact on the design of products depending on near-body sensors.
